This year with some of my Christmas gift money I bought my first Japanese sewing and craft books. I actually bought several books which used up most of my gift money, ouch! But I am in love!! Here is one of the sewing books, ISBN978-4-8347-5668-5. I am going to really try to sew something for myself. Soon. I have high hopes. It's not that I don't sew for myself...I love to sew for myself, just not often enough, you know? I love the style of the patterns. Simple, clean lines and no fussy things, just my style. I plan to make the dress on the front cover and that really cool vest. Just love them. I got this book and others, which I will share with you later, at this Etsy shop. She has some really wonderful Japanese books, clothes patterns (lots of girl clothes pattern, for those of you with cutie girls), beautiful embroidery books and cute fabric. I could really go broke at her shop...not good. Not good at all. After all, I still need to feed the family, you know?
Anyway, this book has full sized patterns for most of the pieces. Interestingly, two of the patterns are used for "base" patterns for other garments. So, that means I have to really make a pattern for some pieces. The diagrams make it look easy and all that I have to do is convert to metric for the measurements. Easy right? We'll see. This is my first adventure into Japanese craft books so I'll let you know my prorgress.
Have a great weekend! I'm heading into the studio to sew. For me.
